The Fine Art of Fashion- AiPD's Annual Student Fashion Show

I am coming up on my last days at the Art Institute of Portland, if you can imagine my life has been crazy! I have my parents in town and one of my best friends from high school and her mom came up as well, not to mention my local Portland loves who came to see me as well. It has been a crazy year for me. My collection Aviation Flights was inspired and in memory for my father John H. McGugan who passed away last June, it's almost full circle for my dad and I.

I was lucky enough to have gotten to do the fashion show with my amazing classmates who are all so very talented! Congrats to us!!
I also have a photoshoot of my garments that I will be posting up here soon as well.

Here are a few teaser shots from the fashion show. If yo
u'd like to see all the pictures from the event go to osiphotography.com and click events!

Senior II

To most of you who don't know, I'm a senior at the Art Institute of Portland! So, I am in my final stages of school... and Senior Collection II is a big part of that. It's like our final thesis, but instead of a paper, we make a mini collection. I have 5 total ensembles, and my inspiration was early aviation. I did this in memory of my father, well whose who life was surrounded by flying and traveling. I will post pictures as I get things done!! :)

My Kitty, Meow Meow...

He died today, I was out shopping with my mom when I got a call from a neighbor that said she found him in her driveway. I've been out of town, so my boyfriend has been watching him. Kitty was MY first real pet that was MINE, he was there for me all the time, and I love him so much. Yes of course he pissed me off, but no duh, what cat doesn't piss you off sometimes. He was an out door kitty, well he was half and half. I don't know what happened to him and it breaks my heart. When I called my lovely Shane to tell him what happened he was deeply upset, so I gave him the number to my neighbor who called me, and he went and got him. He then proceeded to take him immediately to his parents house so he could be buried. Shane's stepdad took kitty out to his friends land so that way he has plenty of room to roam around. I'm gonna miss my meow meow running to me when I'd get home...

Time for thinking...

Since my father has passed, my whole world has changed, what I thought it once was. I see it now, no longer blinded by my ignorance.

With all of that being said, it has also made think about who I want to be and not who the world expects me to be. So once I finish my degree at the Art Institute, I will be continuing my studies. In French and piano. Piano is one of my long lost pass times that I miss dearly. It was also something my pops and I enjoyed when I was growing up. My mother tells me that what ever I did, he always did with me.

Another one of my goals, which I know will take me a long time to accomplish is traveling to all of the places my dad did. Being that he was an international pilot I have quite a lot of catching up to do, oh and I'm terrified of flying.

THEN after that, I will be going back to school for Physics, just part time OR less, it's just a subject I have loved my whole life.

All in all, my trip home has made me remember who I am, and the things that matter most to me, and not them.
